Other teams were out there to take a flyer on Chytll and a interesting prospect in Mancini. Might not have had all the hoopla as Miller, but those two plus the first round pick would have netted something. I don't think its a case of Miller or Chytll, it's more does a contending team want Miller period? Not a good trade at all for the Rangers especially done last year at a point where Gretzky and Messier couldn't have boosted them into the playoffs. Another of Drury's maneuver's that are very questionable. 

The Miller trade was a perfect storm where Van needed to dump 1c miller due to whatever was going on in the locker room. I doubt many other teams would ever give up a 1c for the truly damaged/ one hit from retirement Chytil and the totally unproven Mancini even with a #1pick. Now, as we look back, Van has netted practically nothing on the ice from both Chytil and mancini. 

Plus, Miller's grind game has rubbed off on Zib who's game seems to have recovered from the deep pit it was in before Miller got here.

Miller has plenty of warts and, attitude wise the least desirable Number 1 in the league. And on top teams not a number 1.  Drury had it in his head J.D. was going to be the big fix. Miller is shaping up to be a big headache going down the road.

I see what you are saying, but one correction, Zib was the worst 1c in the league 😉 

 

Don't agree about Zib lol.
