This team just has too many dogs on it

Lafreniere is a fucking joke. That contract will age like milk

Zibanejad is pathetic. Another unmoveable contract. Literally.

Kandre miller shouldn't even be offered the league minimum on his next deal. So bad.

Kreider, low effort and the source of this teams cancer. U all want to know why he wasn't made the captain and trouba was? Well look at this season and there's the answer

Fox. So overrated. Another contract that is retarded.

This roster is bad. This is only the beginning

I said as far back as three four years ago Kreider was a dog. He played the same way back then as now. The only difference previous to this season was he scored because of his line mates hard work in particular Zibanejad. Kreider never broke a sweat back then just like now. This year he’s not getting setup, the PP reeks and he’s screwed because there are few and far between tap in goals. Can’t trade him fast enough.
Drury’s trading since the season started needs to be scrutinized, he gave up a lot of character and really only added, Miller and Borgen of note, the rest are scrubs.

Scrutinize away. IMO, the only thing Drury is guilty of this season is trying to catch lightening in a bottle with some of his moves.

12/6/24 Traded away $8 million Truba, did not have to eat any of his contract, got back a servicable defenseman and a draft pick. WIN

12/18/24 Traded away an overated soft prosect that never panned out (Kakko), got back two picks and a defenseman (Borgen) who has impressed. WIN

1/6/25 Got Kaliyev on waivers. Lightening in a bottle didn't work. No loss

1/31/25 Got JT Miller and two marginal prospects (Brannstrom & Dorrington) for a guy who is one hit away from end of career, a prosect (defenseman I liked {Mancini}, but to get Miller, you have to give up something. Vancouver wanted Schneider) and a 1st (again, in order to get Miller you have to give up something. How smart was it that Drury had the pick protected if 13th overall?). Ask yourself, if we had JT Miller in the playoffs last year, would we have fared better? WIN

3/1/25 Traded Lindgren, Vesey, and a prospect (Kempf) for Parssinen, DeHaan and two picks. He got rid of two UFA's and got a decent return. WIN

3/6/25 Traded UFA Smith for a prospect and 3rd rounder, then spins the 3rd rounder for Kaiser Sozay. Not thrilled with Soucy (think lightening in a bottle), but still a WIN

3/7/25 Spun Brannstrom for Kubel. AHL trade. No win or loss.

Rumor has it, Drury was trying to trade Kreider and Jones, but the return was light. If this was the case, good. You don't make a trade just to make a trade. I really wanted Kandre and LaSnailfreniere traded, and wonder if he looked into this. I mean, if you were a scout on a different team, would you want to give up anything for these scrubs? The big contract Drury gave Lafreniere has to be considered a LOSS

Say what you want about Drury, but he mostly inherited this team from the guys who were happy with a soft roster. The NMC's have his hands tied. The only bad move I can remember is the Buchnevich trade. Call it a rookie mistake. I would hope that he stays, but probably gets fired after we miss the playoffs.

The Rangers have traded Trouba,  Kakko, Chytil, Mancini, and a first, Lindgren, Vesey, and Reilly Smith they have got back Vaakanainen, and a 4rth,  Borgen, a third and a 6th, Miller, Paarsinen, DeHaan, a second and a fourth and Brisson and a 3rd . Thats 5 effective players off last season's conference final team for two Miller and Borgen and a dime a dozen Vaakineinen. The rest of the acquired players are useless. I know which group I'd rather have. Miller for all the talk and buzz has been almost invisible the last three games when the Rangers have needed him the most. The book is definitely out on him. The Trouba trade handled properly in the summer would have likely resulted in his contract going the other way to the right team. I see it as more a victory on Drury's part in spite of himself. Same as his Kreider is available yapping brought a lot of scrutiny to Kreiders game and teams determining Kreider is a dog. So any future return on Kreider is on Drury. Paid a second and a fifth for a basically useless Reilly Smith and gets a Brisson who is Hartford material and a third. There isn't a team in the NHL would trade a 5th for Brisson. He has zero value, only in the trade to try make it look like the Rangers got something besides only a third for a 2nd and a 5th.

Drury doesn't know if he is rebuilding or trying to win. The picks are good but what picks would you trade for the first in the Miller Trade out of the received 2nd, two 3rds, 2 4rths, and a 6th? Probably most of them. The picks only replace the wasted traded picks for previous useless deadline pickups. Which is nice but at the same time he's transformed the Rangers into what? A team with a lot of holes to fill. Drury has had his run and is responsible for where the Rangers are now. Time for him and Pete to pack.

The Rangers did not lose 5 effective players off last season's conference final team.

Chytil missed half the season and played in 6 playoff games with zero points. As we all know, he is 1 hit away from retirement.

Kakko had 10g/26a in 62 games and 55 hits. So not a real scoring threat and soft. Kakko never figured out how to play top 6 RW with Zib or Trocheck. Plus, Kakko played 15 playoff games and had 1g/1a. That sucks. He did manage to play reasonable d on a team with lots of lazy forwards - do you get a gold star for doing what you are supposed to do?

Trouba was a mess before he broke his ankle and playing like a 3rd pair. He was a decent leader and cared and it was not his fault the rangers overpaid, but he was not an effective player, either.

We all know the Lindgren story - fearless heart and soul guy who has been beaten like a drum and is too small to pull the big minutes. His numbers have been declining.  Somebody will pay him. I am happy it is not the Rangers.

Vesey's time has been replaced by more effective younger and bigger 4th line wings(Edstrom/Rempe)  and also by young guys like Berard and Othmann.

None of these guys is a great loss, other than Chytil and, at this point, Miller is way better than Chytil with way less risk of injury. Currently, Chytil is not exactly doing much in Van, either. Maybe after over 400 NHL reg season and playoff games Chytil is what he is - a 15g/30a 3rd line C with an occasional highlight reel goal if he can stay healthy, not a top 6 center who really moves the team towards the Cup.

Dury has done ok trying to make the Rangers better.
