I think the chances of Kakko being traded either at the draft or over the Summer have to be pretty high at this point.  He's earning $2.4M and the Rangers may end up thinking they could open up a space for one of the Hartford guys, and get about another $1.5M to help improve other areas.

Agree.

Kakko could be a decent middle 6 RW on a heavier NHL team that does not need another physical guy. His 18g/20a season plus decent d metrics show his potential value. He is not a fit at all in the current Rangers lineup. The Rangers need more physicality from their forwards, not less.

His game is perfectly tuned for the 15 foot wider Euro rinks - puck control around the boards with a lot less traffic giving him room to make plays and never being out of position on D because hitting has less value in Europe.

I would think the Rangers will get something decent back if they trade him.
