For Tuch...that would be interesting. He's 28 with 2 years remaining at $4.75M. In some ways he's a right-wing version of Kreider without the net-front presence. Strong, fast guy who can score goals...but isn't overly physical.
What would it take? Maybe Kakko or maybe someone like Miller +1st....but also have to wonder why Buffalo would move him. He had 79 points (36G 43A) two seasons ago, and then dropped back to 22G and 37A last season as Buffalo as a whole stepped back a bit. He's probably closer to a 50-55 point guy who can have better years in the right circumstances.
Chris Drury wasn’t able to land Jake Guentzel at the trade deadline this season. The Rangers general manager might try to make it happen again when the free-agent market opens on Monday.
League sources have indicated that the 29-year-old Guentzel is a Rangers’ target in free agency despite the former Penguins and Hurricanes wing hoping to command around $8.5 million annually on a seven-year deal when the market opens.
Vetrano - 1 year left at $3.65m, has played well with Zib and CK before, 37g/23a on a crap duck team, 156 hits last year - has a bit of pain in the ass trocheck in his game.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but the Rangers are interested in bringing Patrick Kane (back) to Broadway.
Very interested.
The Blueshirts have been publicly attached to a number of high-profile impending free agents such as Jake Guentzel and Tyler Toffoli as the July 1 market takes shape pretty much because the Blueshirts are always publicly attached to high profile pending free agents at this time of year.
But it is our best information that the Blueshirts have their eyes trained on a reunion with Kane, whose 19-game cameo following the 2023 deadline when he was compromised because of hip issues left everyone wanting more.
