Panarin Yay or Nay Sign extension?

He just turned 34 Anything over 2 years is to risky. 6 Years would be a disaster. See Stamkos in Nashville drying up at 35. I don’t think the Rangers should sign him period. Better to entice him into a deadline deal to a strong contender so he’d waive his NMC.  Get what you can and move on with some cap room.

Agree. I would try and trade him.  There is a money number that matches his value going forward, but somebody will pay him more than he is worth for too many years. There are no more discounts for the NYR. There is no way I would sign him. His elite quickness in tight spaces is fading and defenders are able to keep closer contact to him. His flaws -turnover machine, d liability, and size will only get worse. 

He can still drive offense, but the Rangers are trying to be more north south now.
