Well I recall saying after the last series the Rangers needed Roslovic and Wennberg to contribute.

Rangers cannot skate with these guys - but Igor and some puck luck and you get the win

Zib, Kreider, and Panarin need to get going.  Rangers have won 2 games without anything from them so far.

Other than the discrepancy in penalties, game was pretty close.

I beg to differ, Florida attempted 107 shots, the NYR 44.  Shots were 38-23 Panthers....Florida really took it to the Rangers especially in the third, and if not for Shesterkin this looks pretty different.

Good teams in the playoffs are going to take your top offensive guys away and crowd them and make it difficult for them to get the cliche time and space. Especially when they get the last change matchup advantage. It's up to those players to grind and get on the scoreboard. It takes depth to survive in the playoffs and the Rangers are getting good production from their depth guys and Igor has been better than Bob so far. Rangers need to get the PP going and they got home ice back today and can really put pressure on the Panthers on Tuesday... Be there!!!

Why was nobody covering Wennberg in front of Bob in OT? That was a huge F up

Rangers have a history of great goaltenders?

Yep...

Lorne Chabot, Dave Kerr, Chuck Rayner, Gump Worsley, Eddie Giacomin, Mike Richter, Henrik Lundqvist and now Shesterkin

Big gap between Giacomin and VBK.

Not exactly Vachon, Dryden, Roy, Price (Vezina and others).

Not really a big gap....6 years between Giacomin and VBK, though I didn't include VBK...those were the John Davidson years, and he was a gamer, but not exactly a world beater...he did get to the Cup Finals though, so good enough.

I think you could perhaps make the argument for the Canadiens, but they also had much better teams in front of them.  Other than that, though, not sure there's another team who could make the claim that they have a better pedigree of goaltender over time

Rangers were pretty good in the first and second periods. Played well enough to deserve a win at that point. The third and overtime was all Florida. But for Shestorokin it would have been over.
When it  gets down to the final four teams the goalie that plays the best is probably going to win the series. Teams are all capable of scoring enough to win. And remember Millers two first period mishaps caused goals, Florida should not have got, and Chytil made a really bad read off the draw Forslund scored on, when he vacated his ice to chase the puck in another teammates space. The teammate was already there forced a pass to Forslund who Chytil should have had.
So IMO Florida is going to have to be better next game, because it’s unlikely the Rangers are giving up three easy ones unless the team takes the night off. Big win.

Rodrigues left his check and drifted up high.  Poetic.
