Lost every puck battle and every faceoff

Zibanejad sucks

Zib is a pussy. Always has been.  His body language has been telling the last couple games. The last time I saw Zib and Bread was on a missing person milk carton, not on the ice.

Both of these penalties happen in full view of the refs. Forsling clearly yanks down Zib (nowhere near the puck) as Zib its trying to get up the ice and Ekblad jams his stick under Kakko's left skate tripping him. If either ref, Garret Rank or Jean Hebert, was brave enough to just do their job, the Rangers would have started OT on the power play. The fact that neither was called is all you need to know about the NHL.

Zib made a shit pass, but he has not been right since he was cross checked by Burns in the middle of the ice  in game 5 against the hurricanes when the Rangers were on the pp.

Florida has gotten away with blatant penalties. Whether during play or after whistles, and just about all of them have been right in front of the ref's.

I'm glad that Laviolette isn't openly complaining about the officiating, I think that just promotes a woah is me type attitude among the players.

Laviolette does need to figure out the best line-up to put out there for game 5. The so called first line has been MIA this whole series, Kakko was on that line for game 4 and was their most physical player?! Maybe try switching Kreider and Laff at least for the start of game 5.

Trocheck and Laff have been good but Panarin is invisible on that line, unless he's turning the puck over. Maybe try Trocheck, Kreider, Cuylle. Put Panarin with Wennberg and Chytil. Rangers need more Jam on all their lines.

4th line should be Goodrow, Rempe, Edstrom. Laviolette can move Goodrow up and down on the lines depending on how the game is going.

Soory for the long post, but thinking at least to start the game go with

Laff, Zib, Kakko

Kreider, Trocheck, Cuylle

Panarin, Wennberg, Chytil

Rempe, Goody, Edstrom.      If Chytil is a no go, maybe Wheeler in that spot?

Then they can keep Wheeler on the 4th line

Your entering a best of three series to go to the Stanley Cup final with home ice advantage. Your best regular season offensive players are killing you with a lack of production. But its not a good time to try to reinvent the wheel throwing lines in a blender. Its more mirror time where Panarin, and Kreider in particular need to have a look in one and up their effort level, and go after making something happen. To much watching by those two, along with puckitis getting rid of it before they get bumped. Zero sacrifice to make a play by either. Kreider's quote says it all about him ""We’re not getting a lot of opportunities to make plays, obviously,” Kreider said after Tuesday’s loss.. Think about that, ""we are not ""getting"" a lot of opportunities"". Try earning them Chris go out on the ice and grind out opportunities like Florida is.

Zib marginally better but IMO trying, at least he's the guy on his line getting banged up. Bottom line those three have to get off their ass and make it happen. Say what you like but its same shit different playoff series, as those three lead the Rangers into, what's shaping up as another whimperish playoff exit.

A couple other things. The Ranger pp is struggling against the Florida pressure at the blue line giving Fox,  Zib, and Panarin zero time to get set up let alone create opportunities. Florida man on man up high against those three, and the Rangers keep banging there head on the wall with the same old approach. So the Rangers need to take advantage of that and draw the three penalty killers up high then get the puck low to what should be a 2 on 1 down low. You gotta adapt and take what’s available, and the Rangers are not.
And the time is now for Lafreniere to be on the number one power play. He is the Rangers best player this series and his creativity and shot is needed. Laviolette is going to have to hurt someone’s feelings when he puts Lafreniere on the PP. And he better hurt that someone’s feelings tonight.

Yes. But the regular season producers are getting the most attention from Florida. That's not going to change so the rest of the lineup needs to make the most of the opportunities that are presented.

Remember the ECF series against Boston (Tortorella's last before he was fired, IIRC). The Top 3 lines of both teams essentially cancelled each other out and it was Boston's 4th line that outplayed ours to win the series. When teams are closely matched that's what usually happens.

Florida’s best don’t seem to be struggling.

The risks of sitting Panarin for Lafreniere on the 1st PP unit is that Panarin could break out at any time and the chemistry built up over the season could be ruined.

Considering that the refs aren't calling much on Florida, not sure it really matters either way.

The power play has to score. Putting the best player in this series on it is the smart thing to do. The chemistry you’re speaking of has barely created zone time let alone shots. Use the top players start Panarin Trochek Lafreniere with Fox and Zib. Switch to Kreider, Zib, Kakko, Panarin and Fox. Still double shifting some but getting Lafreniere out ther3 with some elites.

Because ... ?

Because it will slow down Floridas fearless running around. Right now they have no fear of penalties called because they are getting away with more than their fair share. And the few the refs do call, Florida is laughing at the the Ranger PP which is terrible. Pop a few in and Florida gets a whole lot more careful running around which helps the Rangers immensely.

If Florida gets called for some of the penalties they are getting away with and the Rangers capitalize on the power play. The panthers will play less aggressive and maybe the Rangersget some more room. But if the Rangers don’t capitalize they are dead.
