He is a player I've talked about with friends that would fit well here.

I'm actually happy with what the rangers did. I think they overpaid for wennberg but they got roslevich n rhuedel for pennies

I'm friends with a pens fan n he says he is their best damn. Probably will replace Gustafson or Lindgren when he inevitably gets hurt

My general thought on the trade deadline, is that it's hard to fix top 6, top pair and goaltender at the trade deadline, even if the Rangers had got Guentzel, there's very little time to get folks on the same page.  Alternatively, strengthening your bottom six, adding defensive depth are good value things that can have an impact, especially when the playoffs start wearing your team down.

The Rangers didn't thin out any of their depth at the deadline which is good (and probably why they couldn't get some of their deals done), and they've added guys who may make incremental differences, and probably won't have huge impact either way.  They increase the depth a bit so that they can perhaps weather the grind a little more.

Going back to 2021-22, that kind of model worked out pretty well for the team, whereas last year when they went bigger it didn't really go that way.

Of the players that were traded, Lindholm and Guentzel were certainly interesting, but the price for both were high.  For Lindholm it was one of their middle-six wingers, a 1st, a 4th, a B prospect and perhaps a C level prospect.  For Guentzel, it was a 50 point roster guy, two B level prospects, and rights to a 3rd prospect, along with conditional 1st and 5th picks (they also added fading prospect Ty Smith as part of the deal)

When you look at the Rangers having to probably include maybe Kakko, and probably Othmann along with the two picks to Calgary, and perhaps adding a guy like Will Cuylle into the mix, for Guentzel, then yeah not sure it made a lot of sense.  You'd be reducing the depth at the expense of trying to get these guys for one playoff run.

It's easy to be disappointed, but the reality is that the Rangers will win or lose on what they have in the current roster, whether there are key injuries, and whether they can adjust as the playoffs go on.

Meanwhile Vegas is trying the other way again, and we'll see how they go

Vegas, when they put Hertl on LTIR will have like +$20M on LTIR. Loading up with star players is no guarantee. They might not even make the playoffs.

Roslovic stood out the last 2 times that he played the Rangers .... Hell the whole Columbus team looked like they were trying out for the Rangers. I noticed his speed (going around Miller) and his drive to the net (against Ranger D that allows that). I don't remember if he got on the score sheet but I heard his name a lot. I personally didn't want to give up Kakko for a player that was marginally better that would need to get used to the Rangers way of doing things unless it was Buch or somebody of that caliber.

We will see what we will see. We didn't get tougher anywhere and that is my main concern with this year's Rangers. I don't think they are any better than last year's team. Another first round exit will probably get Drury fired.

I don't think they can beat Florida, and Carolina has been coming on.

If they need me to bleed, then I'll bleed for my team

Drury's job is safe through the end of next season.

Projected Forward Lines. Looks like Rempe and Edstrom get bumped.

I recall seeing yesterday that Edstrom had been sent back to Hartford.

In the West everyone is talking about Edmonton, Colorado, Vancouver and Vegas.... I wouldn't want to play Winnipeg. They will be tough

Yep...the Pegs are the sleeper in that conference.

Thought the Stars would be in the conversation, but the more I see them, the less I believe in them.

It’s going to be tough for every team in the playoffs. In the east shaping up like Tampa, Detroit, and the Islanders who I think will get in passing both Detroit and the Lightning, who will be duking it out for last spot. Meaning the Rangers will be playing a team that has been in playoff mode for 20 games, plus staring at Vasilevskiy or Sorokin at the other end. And we all know goalies can be the major influence in a series and those two are more than capable. The Rangers will be in a dog fight every series they play. Overall stacking up like 8 unreal matchups to start.

Jack shows high end skill but I already question his want to do dirty work all players, on all successful teams have to do. Rangers  still have a few of their own that need to find that commitment. No easy way come playoffs.
