They talk about the NYR in the last third of the show, but it sounds like they have some folks telling them that the players have given up on Drury

The entire organization is the problem. Time to blow it all up from the top down.

Drury screwed himself last summer. Getting rid of Goodrow before Trouba set the table for all this. He gave Trouba to much time to get organized and come up with the plan he would not report to any team that traded for him. Then dug his heels in and manipulated Drury into keeping him around creating a huge cancer in the room.  Trouba then had  all the players sympathizing with him in a mad on for the GM. Then Drury stupidly let it drag out. Before getting rid of Goodrow, Trouba should have been called into the office and told your traded to whoever, if you don’t like it go home and sit. Then Trouba becomes the bad guy.  Goodrow another popular player could have been moved anytime after Trouba.

Drury is indeed the problem along with Laviolette who hasn't been able to coach the team out of this situation. Does anyone really think Drury gets fired and all of a sudden Laviolette gets the team back to playing like they should. Drury and Laviolette both have to go. And isn't it odd, as bad as this stretch has been the only two players that have showed I have your back was Cuylle and Lafreniere who without hesitation jumped in when Cuylle was cross checked. More emotion in that moment than, Trochek, Kreider and Zibanejad have shown in all these garbage slump games combined.

You don't publicly disrespect your players. Doing this serves no purpose, shits on their trade value and puts the entire organization in public relations turmoil. Now Drury needs to be fired and many need to be traded. This whole Drury Trouba/Zib/Goodrow/Kreider mess is on Drury and he must pay for it with his job.

These guys need to STFU and play hockey. It is an effing business that pays them well to play hockey. Last years team was not good enough. Exchanging Goodrow for Carrick/ Roslovic  for Smith was never going to make a difference on the ice (it only matters for the cap) even if they never tried to get rid of Trouba. I know what goes on in the 'room' matters, but that 'room' did not get out of the conference last year. There needed to be wholesale changes. They don't like what Drury is doing? Too bad. Do better when the next CBA expires.

Its rich for the Rangers players to blame Drury. Look around the room and see who is not playing well and making the same mistakes over and over. What's even worse, some guys are not playing well and playing lazy. That's were the blame lies.

Maybe they think they can focus on hating Drury and rally around that like the Cleveland Indians did hating the owner in Major League. 😀

Drury certainly has handled the off-season and this season like an ass.  Pro sports is ruthless, but there are ways to handle your business and Drury has been a ham-fisted dummy.

But let's face the reality:  this "core group" was not, and is not, good enough to get to the next level.  DJ Mika and Kreider have gone through 4 coaches, for Kreider this will be his 5th, and the same problems have doomed all of those teams.  Their line is where right wings go to die.

Up 2 - 0 against Tampa, lost in 6.  Up 2 - 0 on NJ, lost in 7.  Up 2 - 1 against Florida, lost in 6.  There's a reason why Kreider, the longest tenured Ranger on the team, has NEVER been made captain.  Mr. Cerebral is not a leader.  Give me a Tkachuk, an Adam Lowry, or a Jamie Benn any day.  Those guys lead by example, with grit and determination and, if needed, violence.  Not with the post-game hugs and kisses and high fives for the MSG twinks who think that's cute.

It's time to retool the team.  Not a wholesale rebuild, but an overhaul.  The franchise goalie is in his prime and locked up.  There are some young players to build upon (Cuylle, Berard, Chytil, Lafreniere, Rempe, Edstrom, Schneider, Mancini, and Kakko).  There are some proud veterans that can be kept here (Trocheck, Smith, Carrick and Lindgren).  They need a #1 center (not happening anytime soon), a couple of north/south wingers, a physical stay-at-home defenseman to play with and protect Fox, a new defense coach, and eventually a new backup for Igor.  Not confident that Drury is the guy to get this done.  But he's set the stage for the next phase of the team, he's cleared massive cap room, so we'll see what he does.  His problem is that he has contracts that he can't move and the rest of the league knows that he's desperate to save this season.  Blood is in the water and they're all looking to rob him.

The group had an entertaining but frustrating run for 3 seasons.  But the window has closed.  Their flaws had been masked by a hot power play and stellar goaltending.  Not any longer.  They need a new identity, without the Bromancers and nifty Panarin who disappears in the playoffs.

Drury has to finish what he has started by moving Trouba and Kakko. And that means Drury can't be influenced if Kreider scores a few of his zero effort nifty tips or taps. He has to finish this by trading Kreider who is tradeable but based on some reports teams are not lining up for him. The guy has sucked the life out of Zibanejad who has carried Kreider since they started playing together. I said last season it couldn't go on, Zibanejad did yeoman last year, doing all the dirty work defensively for Kreider. And without Zibanejad's offensive efforts Kreider would have had 10 goals.   The only time Kreider hustles is to catch up to Zibanejad to position himself so Zibanejad has to pass to him for another nifty tip or tap. Zibs been doing all the work for two players for to long. No coincidence Zibanejad is struggling and Kreider's numbers have gone to nothing at even strength, and he's the least noticed Ranger on the ice, always circle jerking around the ice in stealth mode doing nothing.  Guys gotta go, then work with Zibanejad playing with linemates that help with the work. If that doesn't rejuvenate Zib then Drury will have to do something about it.

Drury has a problem and that is teams are not going to get in bidding wars for Kreider, Lindgren, and  Vesey who all should be traded ASAP. Time for Miller to be moved also, got to be a more consistent Dman than him out there. Another guy that has to go if there is a deal out there is Chytill. Which is to bad he’s a good Ranger but you can’t build on a glass foundation. Then you deal with Zib.
Get to it Chris.
