Goaltender Talyn Boyko has been reassigned to Hartford. He has been hurt as well.
Defenseman Ben Harpur and forwards Alex Belzile and Jake Leschyshyn have been placed on waivers pending reassignment
Mancini has all the attributes the Rangers desperately need to compete with the better heavy forecheck NHL teams. Most important being physical, and size. Would be so helpful against heavy forechecks.
Not sold on Garrick or Vesey on the fourth line, or Brodzynski as the extra forward. Rangers need to get Edstrom and Othmann onto the fourth line and getting some minutes. That way they get used to the NHL and are better prepared to jump up in the lineup if a top nine guy goes down. Nothing the matter with starting on the fourth line, as long as coach gets them on the ice. Both have the skills. Vesey has sort of run his course and all he's doing is holding back kids with upside. Penalty kills but that can be replaced by Kakko for one.
The Rangers have made more roster cuts, with Jaroslav Chmelar, Bryce McConnell-Barker, Dylan Roobroeck, and Adam Sykora each assigned to AHL Harford. They also released Adam Erne, Madison Bowey, Blade Jenkins, Nate Sucese and Blake Hillman from their PTOs. All will report to Hartford training camp, with Erne and Bowey now on AHL PTOs.
