First comments from Sullivan today:

Going to try Laf on both sides, does like wingers playing on their off-wing, but will try a few combos.
is going to start with Zib on the right wing of Miller
Parssinen going to be looked at as 3rd line center

Schneider will start camp in a no-contact jersey (off-season shoulder surgery), but is expected to play 2 of the last 3 preseason games

Morrow and Laba still hanging in there with Perrault... Interesting

The Rangers have 24 players remaining in Training Camp. The roster breakdown is listed below:

Forwards (16): Brett Berard, Jonny Brodzinski, Sam Carrick, Will Cuylle, Adam Edstrom, Noah Laba, Alexis Lafreniere, J.T. Miller, Artemi Panarin, Juuso Parssinen, Gabe Perreault, Taylor Raddysh, Matt Rempe, Conor Sheary, Vincent Trocheck, Mika Zibanejad

Defensemen (8): Will Borgen, Adam Fox, Vladislav Gavrikov, Scott Morrow, Matthew Robertson, Braden Schneider, Carson Soucy, Urho Vaakanainen

Goaltenders (2): Jonathan Quick, Igor Shesterkin

If they break camp with the max 23 only one more cut. But realistically forwards should be down to 13 and D 7, Rangers need all tha cap help they can get. Which means Sheary who is not going to be a x factor doing anything more than a Perreault, Laba or Berard, should be packing, he has no future going forward.  And does Brodzinski or Parsnips for that matter, bring more to the table than Laba? Not from what I've seen, Laba being more physical and can PK. So sorry Johnny your one of the good guys, good luck getting claimed. One more and it gets tough. And it might be Perreault who is number three cut. Has he done enough? Can he sustain his play? Will Parsnips succeed? Will Raddysh for that matter? Could the Rangers sneak Parsnips through waivers at this time? Possible but not a high chance of it. Probably Perreault to start goes down.

D Borgen, Fox, Gavrikov, Schneider, are locks. Robertson is past his minor league shelf life its fish or cut bait. Vaakanainen I didn't mind last year on the third pair. It’s not like he embarrassed himself, has some needed bite. Personally I'd be moving Soucy who is the forward version of Parsnip's the pair having done not much of anything to justify a spot based on last season.

Be interesting to see if Sullivan will keep some kids leaving himself possibly open to future criticism if they flail.

Morrow and Perreault didn't require waivers (both sent down today), so that's probably part of it, but I do fully expect them to sign Sheary to a contract.  Ideally they'd carry an extra D, and it appears that Robertson is that guy (probably because he has to clear waivers)...which would mean a forward goes down.  Laba would be the "easy" option because he doesn't require waivers either, otherwise they'd have to try sending down Parssinen, Raddysh or Brodzinski.  Jonny has the most utility of any of them, but Drury will have to make a decision soon.

Or not sign Sheary, which IMO is the better option.

Vancouver has put Vitali Kravtsov on waivers.

and he cleared waivers (surprise!) and is headed to the Abbotsford Canucks.

"The Canucks signed Kravtsov, 25, to a one-year deal with an NHL cap hit of $775,000 this past offseason. The contract is a two-way deal, meaning he will earn an AHL salary of $450,000."

$450k is a little less that what he earned in Russia last year.

I agree Eddie no improvement over any of the other 3rd line candidates. Was not any better. Hopefully the coach isn’t dreaming he’s going to replicate his play of 10 years ago.
