Trouba traded to Anaheim for Urho Vaakanainen and 4th round pick

Rumour is trying to fill a trade, waive last resort at 2pm est. Meanwhile this gem. Let us all pray.

To be specific:

There are multiple trade offers that have been presented to Trouba
Trouba has until 2pm to decide on one of them or he will be placed on waivers

I assume that a team will claim him if he's placed on waivers, though this is not being reported

Darren Dreger (of TSN) is saying CBJ, ANA and DET are the teams circling around Trouba.  If you're Trouba, which of those three you picking?

None of them are great match-ups (in a trade) from a Rangers perspective

On another note, both the Ducks and Blue Jackets have enough Cap space to add Trouba without any other moves.  Calgary is the only other team to do so.

Might actually be better for the Rangers to have him claimed off of waivers, rather than take on one of those other contracts

Well a Thachuk/Lafreniere centrepiece trade rumours makes sense. Thachuk undoubtably pissed off in Ottawa with the way they are going. His agent see’s the opportunity for a in season trade, speaks to management and the door opens. Lafreniere makes perfect sense for Ottawa hometown boy, who let’s face it looks to comfortable since signing the big ticket. Fill in the blanks around those two and a doable deal.

Should have done this sooner, before they lost the whole team. This team has no heart, no balls and no capatain/leadership.

I read somewhere that if claimed by the right team it could complete a trade.

I could understand Brady wanting out of Ottawa, but am hearing there is nothing to it at this time

Appears he is going to Anaheim, sounds like Vaakanainen (25 year old left D) and a pick

The return is 25 year old Left D Urho Vaakanainen

Scouting Report

Excels at the defensive aspects of playing along the blueline, such as shot-blocking ability, shutdown qualities and a sound decision-making process with the puck. Is a solid puck mover with a fairly projectable frame. His offensive game will never be his calling card, so he is unlikely to become a No. 1 rearguard in the National Hockey League. Needs to add weight and get stronger to maximize his shutdown appeal and limit injuries, which have been an issue for him.

Supposedly currently on IR with UBI

Sounds like he may be able to crack the lineup.... In Hartford

Not a lot of return unless they draft another Mancini with the pick. It’s not like Trouba was doing anything, so the big gain is  Anaheim eating Trouba’s contract, setting up another move perhaps.
