There are multiple trade offers that have been presented to Trouba
Trouba has until 2pm to decide on one of them or he will be placed on waivers
I assume that a team will claim him if he's placed on waivers, though this is not being reported
Darren Dreger (of TSN) is saying CBJ, ANA and DET are the teams circling around Trouba. If you're Trouba, which of those three you picking?
None of them are great match-ups (in a trade) from a Rangers perspective
On another note, both the Ducks and Blue Jackets have enough Cap space to add Trouba without any other moves. Calgary is the only other team to do so.
Might actually be better for the Rangers to have him claimed off of waivers, rather than take on one of those other contracts
Well a Thachuk/Lafreniere centrepiece trade rumours makes sense. Thachuk undoubtably pissed off in Ottawa with the way they are going. His agent see’s the opportunity for a in season trade, speaks to management and the door opens. Lafreniere makes perfect sense for Ottawa hometown boy, who let’s face it looks to comfortable since signing the big ticket. Fill in the blanks around those two and a doable deal.

Scouting Report
Excels at the defensive aspects of playing along the blueline, such as shot-blocking ability, shutdown qualities and a sound decision-making process with the puck. Is a solid puck mover with a fairly projectable frame. His offensive game will never be his calling card, so he is unlikely to become a No. 1 rearguard in the National Hockey League. Needs to add weight and get stronger to maximize his shutdown appeal and limit injuries, which have been an issue for him.
