Trouba traded to Anaheim for Urho Vaakanainen and 4th round pick

I believe he's out at the moment with injury, but I guess we'll wait and see

Troubas $8miil goes away and Urho Vaakanainen's $1.1mill comes back for a net gain of $6.9mill. That is some good work by Drury.Posted by: @cuyllrangerNot a lot of return unless they draft another Mancini with the pick. It’s not like Trouba was doing anything, so the big gain is Anaheim eating Trouba’s contract, setting up another move perhaps.

We need 6 nhl defensemen... we have none

Drury is having a Black Friday Sale

Rangers f*cked the Ducks today. Even if we only got the 4th rd pick, getting rid of Trouba and his $8M cap hit along with his weak play is great

Ducks needed Trouba's contract -- because they're so close to the cap floor. Have the feeling they'll retain 50% and trade him at the deadline.

We should have never traded McDonagh...

Been away from the board because I'm angry and disgusted with this team and didn't want to become a tiresome bore with nightly rants. The Rangers are doing their best to out-dysfunction the NY Jets as a franchise. 30 years without a Cup because management doesn't have a clue and the team has no leadership or identity.
Pro hockey is a business, but Drury handled his business like an ass. Publicly shaming respected players like Goodrow and Trouba this summer is not how you attract players to your team. And now he's leaking the drama with Kreider and the attempts to dump him. Sorry, call me old-fashioned, but that's not how you run a business. You can be ruthless and cold-hearted, but still retain some class.
As for losing Trouba, this team has so many flaws that this is a fart in a tornado. K-Poke the turnover machine will ruin another partner. Zzzzzzibanejad is washed up and done. Panarin is invisible against the tougher contenders and whenever the playoffs start. The team is slow, soft, and has no heart. They've lost heart and grit guys like Goodrow and Trouba (because they're old and "overpaid") but have yet to replace what they bring in the way of leadership, grit and toughness. This will be ugly.

Welcome back PV. Glad you’re still waking up on the right side of the ground. Hopefully Drury can learn a lesson or two from BriseBois about being a cold hearted businessman - and keeping a lid on the friggin rumor mill. Time will tell.

I don’t think the Rangers are done with Trouba just yet and they may see him line up a Ranger or two if they make the Playoffs. If Trouba gets his act together, I can see a Washington/Tampa/Devils type eastern team going after him at the trade deadline, to offer him a way out of the Anaheim rubble pile and just for spite to look for a few of Trouba’s big hits. I wouldn’t be surprised an agreeable deal for Trouba at the deadline hasn’t already been guaranteed. If your a Washington in particular its a no brainer. I don’t see it having a big impact on a Ranger playoff series other than Trouba can knock a guy out of a series. Something to watch for because I think it’s a given he gets traded by the deadline, especially because of Anaheims ability to absorb his cap hit. Verbeek has put himself in a pretty good position to get something more tangible than a fourth and a scrub back..

About three years to late but if Vaakanainen can hang around it will be interesting to see if any affect on Kakko finally having a countryman on the team. It would have gone a long ways when Kakko first came into the league.

Rangers had Finnish born player Tarmo Reunanen on the roster during KK's first season. Rangers later acquired Mikkola who they thought would help get him untracked.Posted by: @cuyllrangerAbout three years to late but if Vaakanainen can hang around it will be interesting to see if any affect on Kakko finally having a countryman on the team.
