Renney Has Guided Rangers to 9-2-1 Start

The Rangers remain at the top of the league in terms of points, but slipped down to fifth in terms of their “win percentage” after last night’s games. The Wild remain the only team without a regulation loss (6-0-1), while the Sharks, Red Wings and Canadiens all have better points per game than the Rangers. Still their 1.92 goals against average is best in the league, ahead of the Wild in second with 2.00.

The Rangers’ 9-2-1 record is all the more impressive when you consider that it’s equal to their best start (1978-79 and 1989-90) through 12 games when they also managed 19 points at the same point in the season.
