Rangers go down in season opener

The Rangers opened up their 2012-13 season with a 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins, a game in which they had no answer for a well prepared team. The Bruins dictated the play for much of the game, and only a screen shot from Brad Richards managed to make it past goaltender Tukka Rask.
For New York, it was a disjointed offensive effort that saw the team make little impression in the Bruins end, with Boston quickly transitioning throughout the game. The first two goals in fact came off of transitions that saw the Rangers struggle to deal with the fast skating Boston forwards.
