Girardi Making Progress

Dan Girardi won’t commit to a return date, but is hoping another day and a half of recovery will allow him to return against the Tampa Bay Lightning tomorrow – MSG 7:30pm.  Girardi has missed just the third and fourth games of his career with what reporters are speculating to be a groin injury, though the team has not confirmed.

Should Girardi be able to play, then Steve Eminger seems the likely scratch to make room for him with Matt Gilroy seemingly now ahead of him on the depth chart.  Girardi has had no goals and 2 assists in eight games this season, while registering a team-equaling worst -3.  Last year he set a career mark of +16, and was tied for fourth on the team.
