General Manager Jeff Gorton put his tag on the Rangers this morning acquiring Eric Staal from the Carolina Hurricanes. And he did it by paying what many consider to be a reasonable price. Sent the other way are the Rangers 2016 and 2017 second round picks, and last years 3rd round pick 89th overall Aleksei Saarela. It is still a cost the Rangers acknowledge, Saarela in particular coming off a very good World Junior Hockey Championship Tourney and enjoying a solid season toiling for Assat in the Finnish Men’s League.
