Sykora Reassigned To Slovakia

Training Camp roster now sits at 61 players, following today’s reassignment of Adam Sykora back to his Slovakian Extraliga club, HK Nitra. Sykora picked up two minor penalties in last night’s 4-1 preseason win over the New York Islanders, but was not expected to factor into the Rangers’ roster plans this year.
The 18 year old Sykora has had a bit of a whirlwind Summer, after being drafted by the Rangers and earning a contract straight out of development camp back in July. The plan has always been to return Sykora to Slovakia. Nitra began their season back on September 16th, and are currently 1-3-0 with the next game scheduled for Friday.
No Barclay, Blais or Panarin Tonight

The Rangers travel to Boston tonight to play their second preseason game in as many nights. Not along for the ride are most of last night’s line-up, along with star winger Artemi Panarin and forward Sammy Blais and Barclay Goodrow.
Not playing Panarin is probably more about giving others a chance, rather than any concern with the veteran Russian winger. Panarin likely needs very little time to get into his groove, though surely getting him some playing time with his new linemates would be a positive.
