Goaltender Spencer Martin has officially cleared waivers today, and is expected to join the five players reassigned yesterday in Hartford. Despite some goaltender gaps remaining in the league, it’s not surprising that the veteran netminder was unclaimed. Martin will be compete for a spot in Hartford, though could run the risk of spending time in the ECHL if he can’t turn his career around.

In other news, we have a third preseason game tonight. The Rangers (0-2-0) will host the Devils (2-0-0) at 7:00pm in what will likely be the last opportunity for many prospects and bubble players to make an impression.
