As we head into rookie camp this week, the Rangers have announced a few changes in the front office that adds more members to the executive leadership, as well as a handful of new scouts. Current Assistant General Manager Ryan Martin sees his title upgraded to Associate General Manager, while Ryane Clowe rejoins the organization after a stint as Assistant Manager in San Jose to take up the same role with New York.
He’s joined by Jim Sullivan who has been promoted from his role as Vice President of Hockey Strategy to also be an Assistant General Manager as well. Sullivan has been with the Rangers for 16 years, and has a background in data and statistics.
Also joining the front office is recently retired Blake Wheeler. After making it official in July, Wheeler will fill the role of Hockey Operations Advisor. It continues a trend for Chris Drury and the Rangers, who’ve made a habit of bringing back players in front office roles after their career has finished.
Three scouts were added to the roster as well, with Chris Pryor bringing three decades of scouting experience in an assignment to cover the CHL and NCAA, and pro scouts Mark Flood and Darryl Williams.
