Drury better do something. If he fritters around Vatrano will be it. And people need to remember Anaheim does not have to trade him he’s under contract next season so Anaheim will not get desperate to move him. So they will get their pound for him now or wait til this  summer or next years deadline. I don’t think as constructed including Wenneberg, Guentzel moves the dial to Cup winner, unless there is an unlikely gelling with 2 guys that have shown little ability to adapt to a new line mate.
Unless a top four dman and a top line RW get added they will be in tough. Whoever ends up in the 2nd wildcard spot will have been playing playoff hockey for 2 months, and on a roll, because that’s what it’s going to take to get in.

looks like Drury is shopping at the Dollar store now. Zucker maybe?   Boy that gets me excited. Maybe there’s something else out there but he better know what the F he’s doing cause his neck is in the chopping block now.

Do you make the deal of Kakko and a 1st for Guentzel?

I wouldn’t myself, because Guentzel is a natural left wing and the Rangers are already short on right wings….i might have considered Othman tho, but sounds like it would have taken more

well he could really put his neck on the line by trading for Buch 😉

He’s got another year on his contract and didn’t leave NY on best of terms; so why do you think he would come back?

Pretty much Buchnevich or Toffoli now. Duclair traded so saves Drury from himself. The Guentzel trade none of the Carolina throw ins are any better than Ranger second tier prospects and the first becomes a second if Carolina doesn’t make the Cup final and the lower pick is deleted if they don’t win the Cup as per Sportsnet tonight. Sounds to me like a trade Drury should have got done, but as Toby mentioned another left wing log on the fire. Reality is Buchnevich or Toffoli have to be the targets unless he’s gotta Tampa Brandon Hagel  type trade up his sleeve. In other words a young stud.

I honestly don't understand the yearning for former Rangers.....people on boards have been rabid about bringing back the likes of Vatrano, Buch, Duclair, even DeAngelo.  Been there....done that...moved on.

I'm not A Vatrano fan or of bringing mediocre back.  Buchnevich is a guy that got away. Would like him back. At this point in time with availability the issue he might be the best fit.

The allure of Vatrano is that he clicked with Zibanejad and Kreider 2 years ago and chemistry is an issue with that line.

Vatrano is a lightweight. Another note,  rumour has it Doug Armstrong and Tom Fitzgerald have been arrested for kicking the shit out of Kyle Dubas forever now known as Dumbass for lowering the expected return for Toffoli and Buchnevich. Both of whom I’d take over Vatrano. Especially since price might not be a factor one over another.
