One might say the deadline dud is a show of confidence for Kakko and it’s his 1RW to run with. I don’t mind Wennberg and he is the only other possibility with the two guys who don’t play nice, and of course he shoots left, Roslovic, has to clean up his two way play to be in the mix. Playoffs will be short and not so sweet if Zib’s line doesn’t score 5 on 5.
More than a couple teams strengthened themselves. Notably Carolina. Igor is going to have to be all galaxy if the Rangers are going anywhere. Going to need a schedule break or two along the way..

I don't think he's passing the buck so much as there was very little he could do without morphing into Neil Smith and trading every asset and/or pick for rentals. The fact is that this is not a Cup winning team....even JD/Gorts stated publicly they weren't built for the playoffs and I would bet the farm that Drury feels the same way. So far he's been handcuffed by the cap and those idiotic movement/trade clauses....but we've begun to see the direction he's taking with the type of players he's drafting. The clock on Drury begins this coming off season when he has some flexibility cap wise and roster wise.
