Einstein’s definition of insanity, right? Last time I checked, neither Drury or Laviolette have laced up their skates for an NHL tilt in a long, long time. So fire them - then what? You still have the “Hug Brothers” going on their fifth and sixth head coaches; Fox and K-Poke with their head’s up their asses; and a whole slew of contact adverse players. I know there’s an axiom that “you can’t fire the team so you fire the coach” but in the case of this team as currently constructed, I really think this team should be blown up. Just my 2 cents.

The Bromancers have gone through 4 coaches. They need to go. Along with half the defense: Miller, Lindgren, Jones. By moving Sleepy Chris and DJ Mika, you allow the next group of leaders to take charge and forge a new identity for the team. Adding some snarl to replace what was lost when Goodrow and Trouba were kicked to the curb would be a big help as well.
Would certainly get rid of Housley, the defense is a mess. But keep Peca and Lavvy. That alien-looking Nosferatu dude with the glasses, WTF does he do anyway?

I think/hope the alien dude is like a stick boy that has his hand on the stick rack during a game and when a player on the ice breaks his twig, he has the replacement at hand.
But back to the topic at hand, I agree 100% with your take; although I will give Lindgren some slack. I’ve really never seen that dude take a shift off and I think his body is just broken from laying it on the line. But you’re spot on about bite/snarl. I was at the Garden two years ago this month for the Chicago (Trube’s helmet chuck) and Ottawa back to back loses and people sitting near me wanted Patrick Kane. I told them we needed guys like Patrick Maroon. Nothing has changed in the last two years, unfortunately.
Laviolette lost me yesterday. Sitting Kakko who didn't deserve it, he should have sat one of Kreider, Zibanejad, Smith, Vesey, and even Trochek for a head shake reflection. Then he tops it off by having Zib and Kreider third and fourth lines all game deservedly cutting their minutes. Then after Cuylle's line and Berard show the most spark all game, including sparking the comeback Laviolette sits them the final two minutes and plays his bro toy's Zib and Kreider. Showing his only answer to adversity or a important shift or part of the game is his boys.
And to me that is part of the problem, and that's no matter how hard or good a young player is, they will be stuck behind the Powerless play big 5. Lafreniere deserved real power play time last year. Never got it. This year even more so after his start. And he along with Cuylle in particular have not been rewarded for their 5 on 5 play.
Compound that with Zib and Kreider mailing in their effort all year and you are where you are. Laviolette had a opportunity yesterday to say new rules kids, with at least Chytills line, the best line all game on the ice at crunch time. He failed sending the wrong message relying AGAIN on the Bro Toys.
Firing Lavio is not enough. Drury has to break up the veteran core, before a new coach. But keep in mind Laviolettes record is excellent first year then not as good in the years after. But unless a Jon Cooper becomes available maybe a Peca interim for the year to see how he does, keeping options open to move on in the off season. And FFs's I've been saying it over and over Housely has to go.
