NIce two points some teams above lose all good.
May have been Miller’s best game ever as a Ranger. Even the early goal against was not really his fault; he joined the rush and Chytil was supposed to be the guy who covered and stayed back. Chytil is dynamic with the puck but consistently has brain farts on defense. Miller actually took the body along the boards … more than once! Sometimes, very rarely, he does it almost by accident. But last night he seemed purposeful in his movement to take out the opponent along the wall. I’m interested to see if this is developing situation or just a one-off.
4th line has turned this team around. Carrick is exactly what this team needed, and Edstrom has developed nicely. The addition of Rempe, and the chemistry that these 3 have developed, is awesome to watch. A team that has a 4th line that can be trusted to give 8 to 9 minutes per game and not take a minus (maybe even contribute a goal) is a dangerous team in the playoffs.
Kreider shows more energy when he’s hugging guys and high-fiving after the game than he does during the game. Canucks have to take him if they want to move JT Miller to the Rangers. The Rangers can’t have 2 guys that coast through games every night with the occasional burst of production.
