I get the talk about Borgen. Like my grandmother he is a notch up on the compete level of most of the Rangers D. If your giving up on the year and planning to move Borgen at the deadline then that’s one way to look at it. But it’s still a trade Drury got the least he could for Kakko. And very little help unless Borgen and Rempe can turn the team around. Drury still has to trade an obvious dressing room disruption ringleader in Kreider, who he has done a nice job of also undervaluing. But I’d bet money Kreider doesn’t get traded, he’s a mirror image of how useless Drury was finishing out his playing career as a Ranger.
I wouldn't exactly call Borgen a "BIG" defenseman at 6'3" 204Lbs. A little bigger than Limpgren. he's a bottom 4 dman and we have a whole team of bottom 4 dmen.
Is he bigger than Box or Jones? yeah but I would hardly call him big. Kakko was not worth much and is a total flop... good riddance.

When two different coaches make you a healthy scratch in Game 6s of the ECF, both of which were win-or-go-home games, then YOU are the problem. Kakko was useless in the playoffs and apparently a malcontent according to recent reports.
Unloading him made room for Othman and/or Rempe, two hungry kids who play much more physically than Kakko. It also apparently removed a brooding complainer from the locker room. I’m not bothered by this deal at all. It might actually improve the mindset of the team by removing a guy who wasn’t fitting in.
Wasn't a big fan of Kakko and glad he's no longer here. But, I think he was right when he said it was easier for the coach to scratch him instead of one of the fragile, overpaid fat cats. I would have been pissed too.

An underperformer for an underperformer what are the odds. Borgen another NHL'er 1/2 way through his career no one has heard of let alone has a recall of watching him play. I can tell you after watching his tilts Washington's Wilson isn't loosing any sleep. But we can all judge him after a couple shifts. 😎.
The entire Rangers roster is almost made up of UNDERperformers.

Watched the Kraken/Hawks game last night. Apparently Cock-O is still in denial. Remember the “figure 8” skating drills we used to do using the face off circles? His whole game is like a modified version of the drill where you skate in an oval around the circles and going behind the net. Good thing he never played baseball cause he’s allergic to the “home plate” area of the rink. No great loss IMO
The trade is done. He was not getting it done here. That being said he was more valuable to the team than more than a couple still here. But he had probably reached his ceiling here. Borgen so far has looked like a nice snag back so adios Kakko. I think he could come back as a guy the Rangers gave up on to early but remains to be seen. Time tells all in trades.
Kakko sets up two last night for the Kraken. Setups were his game.
