Yeah, no.  This guy isn't Pavel Brendl or Alexander Daigle.  Biggest issue is he is a creative player who has played for coaches that want conformance.  But us Rangers fans will run him out of town anyway then bitch and moan when he goes elsewhere and becomes the player we thought the Rangers drafted.  And it will be all his fault.

And regarding the video, 90% of the lowlights were from the most recent preseason game against the Devils when Lafreniere wasn't even in the lineup.

Kakko and Lafeniere were both misused by this inept organization. As I've said many times, every other organization puts young players like this on the first PP unit from day one and gives them 17 minutes of ice time. That being said, Kakko has made huge strides forward and Lafreniere has not. Kakko was knocked off the puck constantly his rookie year. Now it's almost impossible to knock him off the puck. Rangers should show Lafreniere tape of Sean Bennett. That is who he should pattern his game after from a physical viewpoint. Then he would be much more effective.

If his talent was there it would be evident... He did nothing to help his cause...Did he get into a skating program over the summer to perhaps improve his skating? If he did it doesn't look like he did. He's a bust or he doesn't want to be here. He showed NOTHING in camp. No one to blame except Laf.

So he didn't need to improve his skating over the summer? You think he skates good enough to be a top 6 forward? I don't

Lafreniere's ice time compared to other number 1's is very low. Even worse is powerplay ice time comparison's, again ridiculously low.

I have no idea what Lafreniere did or didn't work on over the summer and neither does the creator of that click-bait YT video. But to my eye, his passing and hockey sense is top notch. The skating thing is strange because it was better in his first couple of seasons than it is now. Wonder if he bulked up to play the Gallant way and it hurt his speed and acceleration.

When was he fast...So it's everybody's fault but Laf's. he was outplayed by 2 kids in camp and in preseason. He was given every opportunity and shit the bed. And don't get me wrong, I would love to see him succeed but for now he just sucks. So how did management make Cuylle and Othmann look good and Laf look bad?

Where did I write that Lafreniere was fast? I said he previously skated "better" and wondered if he bulked up and that hurt his speed, relatively speaking.

Also disagree that he was outplayed by Cuylle and Othmann but that will become evident or not once the real games start and they play against full NHL rosters. I may not be right but I don't let social media, the NY Post, YT idiots, or Sam and Joe decide what my eyes are seeing.

Not a Brendl or Daigle, but will never be what I hoped for from a #1 overall. His lack of speed hurts his all around game. It worked for him in the Q, not here. I think he tops out at 20 goals, maybe 50 points.

Fair points, overall.  I'll give him one more year playing with guys like Panarin to see if he can make a bigger impact.
