Preseason Game 5: NYR @ NJD - 7:00pm

I find it very interesting not to see Lafreniere's name in this lineup. 

Not really, SE -- Lavvy stated to the press that Laff doesn't need to play all the games and would sit this one one....he's supposed to be in tomorrow's lineup.  Now it would be interesting if he's not playing against the Bruins.

Even though he didn't come right out and say it, you could tell in the interview that Lavvy is less than impressed with Laffy's mediocre performance so far (as am I).

Alexis Lafreniere skates as an extra at practice… is he in the doghouse? Peter Laviolette downplays the significance, but he might nevertheless be sending a message to Laffy. Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad will finally play together on the Rangers’ top line along with Kaapo Kakko. Why Mika and Kakko MUST be on the top line on Opening Night. Jonathan Quick and Igor Shesterkin to start one game each to close out the preseason. Derek Stepan announces his retirement.

Not great coverage on the first one, looked like Kreider was in no mans land

On the second one, Quick didn't pick up the shot from the point until late

Jersey off to a  Quick lead.

Weak ass call

I can't recall in all my years if a Ranger goalie has ever been booed out of town.....I'd have to say that Quick is definitely trending in that direction.

In the meantime, Rangers can't get anything going.

Yeah, this Rangers team definitely not looking very good yet...not much time to work it out, kind of reminds me of Vigneault's first year...took them a couple of months or so to figure it out
