Preseason Game 5: NYR @ NJD - 7:00pm

Great move, Goodrow: crosscheck a guy while he's down right in front of the ref.

True, but it's ours.
Are there really any good ones?
If they need me to bleed, then I'll bleed for my team

LOL, I stand corrected.

To me, Quick has always been what we used to call a "reflex" goalie....so he won't be upright very much.....however, as we've seen, he can't stop anything from the chest up....I can't think of one goal he's given up that hasn't been top shelf so far.Posted by: @fish@mjolnir yeah, I recall hearing Hank talk about it at one point I think...but pretty sure the leaning over is all on Quick makes him look he stands about 5-6

He's kind of the modern day Sandy McCarthy, a guy who came in thinking (or coach thinking) that he's better offensively than he is, and then he forgets the grind/jam game that he was brought in to provide. Don't see anywhere near the $3.5M of value that they're paying him..

Ranger PK + Quick in goal = no chance

Reflex goalies typically don't age well. Drury should have known that.

Goodrow was brought in for his playoff experience. That was needed with the team so young. Not so helpful when they blow a 2-0 series lead in the opening round.

@c well he didn't really leave himself much cap room to solve the backup problem...not all of it his doing (Panarin, Trouba and Kreider all inherited), perhaps they figure that they can fall back on Domingue or Garand...or perhaps he's regretting that Goodrow contract
@fish I don't think they could have imagined Quick would be this bad.

@c plenty of us did though 🙂

Apparently there was no Pitlick on the bench in the second

I'm thinking...................It's going to be a frustrating season.
