I'm thinking...................It's going to be a frustrating season.

I think it'll be a frustrating start...just not sure how long it will last

@fish I don't think they could have imagined Quick would be this bad.

To be honest, none of the choices were what I'd consider good.  I suspect Quick is one of the few willing to take that little money.

Pitlick apparently has an upper body injury...no details

I felt all summer this team won't make the playoffs unless Shesterkin is what he was 2 years ago and he plays 70 games. Quick needs to be released. He's done. Zibanejad and Panarin are mental cases who can only play with one player. Thus, they ruin the chemistry of the offense. In true Rangers, clueless fashion, both were giving moronic NMC's. It's almost nuts to think that the Rangers need to do a quick rebuild again with Shesterkin being 27 but this is the case.  Both Zibanejad and Panarin need to be traded. I'd try to salvage Zibanejad and tell him point blank, if he can make it work with another winger other than Kreider, he's going to be moved one way or another. Panarin needs to be traded. If he won't accept one, then buy him out next season.

I can't recall in all my years if a Ranger goalie has ever been booed out of town.....I'd have to say that Quick is definitely trending in that direction.

In the meantime, Rangers can't get anything going.

frankly the "team" hasn't played very well in front of him. I can't shed all the blame on Quicky...Seems to me that several players are taking longer than others to understand and adapt to Lavy system.

Nonsense. Quick has let in a ton of easy goals. The team is not to blame. Quick is washed up. Apparently, every GM in hockey knew this other than dumbass Drury.

Yep. I had high hopes for Drury. He's showing now that he's a terrible GM.

Yep. I had high hopes for Drury. He's showing now that he's a terrible GM.

I think he had a rough stint that he went through at the end of his first Summer.  Acquiring Reaves, signing Goodrow that contract, and trading away Buchnevich for pennies were all rough moves.  Not as impactful, but didn't see the point of signing Tinordi, and he gave Nemeth too much dollar and term, though I wasn't as against the signing at the time.

Since then I think he's done okay...he did pretty well at his first deadline, though he gave a bit back last season with the Kane acquisition which just didn't make much sense.

I've not really liked his coaching hires, was not a Gallant fan especially when I saw his approach going into that first training camp...and while he had some success, I have to think that a large part of that was due to Shesterkin's otherworldly season.  Was not a big fan of the Laviolette hire either...but we're yet to see where that goes.

This off-season I don't really have any issues with what he's done.  He really did a reasonable job with almost no cap space, and while I thought the Quick move was risky, I'm not sure there were that many options there at that price point.  Pitlick and Bonino are okay depth moves, liked the Belzile one, and I've grown to like the Gustafsson one.  Nash kind of a reach one, but isn't really impactful.

Based on his term to date I'd give him a B-  He managed to get out from under Nemeth and Reaves contracts (self-inflicted), and I'm going to think that Sather and Dolan were big factors in the Kane acquisition...though perhaps he's as much an accomplice.  He owns only one of the three underperforming contracts (Panarin, Trouba, Goodrow)...so don't pin that on him...hard for me to move on from Buchnevich though especially when you have $3.5M being eaten up by Goodrow.  It's probably true that they still couldn't afford him, but it's frustrating that he would have filled a need in these last two seasons that the Rangers have spent assets trying to address.

I'd add the rumor that St. Louis offered Tarasenko and eating salary for Buchnevich and Drury wanted Blais.
