Eye See A Problem

Since injuring his eye on March 5th off of a deflected Kimmo Timonen shot, there’s been plenty of questions around whether Marc Staal would be able to return as an effective NHLer, or even at all.  Staal himself has admitted that he initially wondered the same, though he appears now to be on track to be ready for the start of the coming season.

Back on May 27th he admitted to ESPN that he didn’t expect his eye to ever make a full recovery, and that appears to have been confirmed again in the Chronicle-Journal that he’s working to adapt to the change in vision.

Staal told the paper: “Right now, I’m just adapting to it and every day it feels like it is getting better and becoming more natural.”, and insisted that he’ll be ready to go when the season starts.
