With the University of Maine Black Bears’ season up, the Rangers were free to negotiate with and sign forward Lucas Lawson. Lawson was the second leading scorer and had 21 goals and 16 assists in 39 games with the Black Bears in a streak of 128 straight games for the team.
Lawson finished his college career with 50 goals and 43 assists in 145 games and improved his goal and points production in each of his four years in the NCAA. Last year Lawson was part of the Black Bears team that was defeated by Minnesota in the NCAA championhip.
The 6’1″ 205lb forward was assigned to Hartford and will participate in the team’s final games of the season and post-season play.
