Keefe Claimed By Bolts

Two weeks after picking up the feisty winger in the NHL Waiver Draft, the Rangers sent Sheldon Keefe through waivers, where he was claimed by his former club the Tampa Bay Lightning and immediately reassigned to the AHL.  Keefe made just one pre-season appearance with the Rangers in his brief stay and could not break into the veteran laden NHL line-up.

In explanation of the move Coach and General Manager, Glen Sather suggested that Keefe just did not fit with the make-up of the Rangers, a comment that Keefe’s agent was quick to counter suggesting the Rangers never gave him the chance.
