The Rangers continue to knock off RFAs, with Justin Falk agreeing to a one year, $975,000 contract with his new club.  Falk has yet to establish himself as a full-time NHLer, but provides extra depth to the Rangers, who were sorely stretched last season when injuries impacted Marc Staal in particular.

It remains to be seen if Falk will stick around with the club after camp, but it seems likely that he’ll at least get to share the booth with Aaron Johnson pending any injuries, given that the Rangers did send Benn Ferriero and a 6th Round Pick to the Wild for his rights.

Rangers forward Carl Hagelin has come to terms with the Rangers, preventing what might have been a contentious debate over his worth to the organization.  There had been some thought that Hagelin’s agreement might be the most contentious of the Rangers RFAs, but his signing comes just five days into the free agency period.

Hagelin will reportedly return for two years for a total deal value of $4.5M, which gives him an Average Annual Value (AAV) or Cap value of $2.25M.
