DeAngelo and Smith Sit

After dressing seven defensemen in Sunday’s win over Montreal, Vigneault has elected to go back to a regular six man unit, pushing Tony DeAngelo out of the line-up, and keeping Brendan Smith out of the line-up as a healthy scratch for the second straight game.
As a result of the changes, Marc Staal has been promoted to play alongside Ryan McDonagh, with Kevin Shattenkirk remaining paired with Brady Skjei, and a third pairing of Nick Holden and Steven Kampfer.
Chytil Sent Down

After seeing limited ice time in Games 1 and 2, and a healthy scratch for Game 3, the Rangers have decided to go a different direction for the time being, sening 18 year old center Filip Chytil down to Hartford of the AHL.
Reports today suggest the decision was mutual, with Chytil also eligible to be reassigned to Thunder Bay of the OHL or back to his homeland, the Czech Republic. By assigning Chytil to Hartford, New York will have the ability to recall him, without having to wait until the end of the season, perhaps one reason why Chytil might have pushed for the option.
