After seeing limited ice time in Games 1 and 2, and a healthy scratch for Game 3, the Rangers have decided to go a different direction for the time being, sening 18 year old center Filip Chytil down to Hartford of the AHL.
Reports today suggest the decision was mutual, with Chytil also eligible to be reassigned to Thunder Bay of the OHL or back to his homeland, the Czech Republic. By assigning Chytil to Hartford, New York will have the ability to recall him, without having to wait until the end of the season, perhaps one reason why Chytil might have pushed for the option.
With yesterday’s acquisition of Adam Cracknell off of waivers from the Dallas Stars, the Rangers will have the requisite twelve forwards for the game tonight against St Louis.
