It was interesting to see those first videos from camp:

Laviolette certainly is willing to engage a lot more on questions than what we saw under Gallant

Reading between the lines - Lafreniere seems pretty happy with the change

Kakko comes across so much more confident than I've seen him in the past

Not sure what to make of Panarin's new look

Shesterkin rethinking how he handles adversity was interesting

Zibanejad seems to be happy to still be with Kreider

Third Liner

@fish Othmann virtually has no chance to make the team. He didn't have a great year in juniors IMO. The Rangers have filled the 4th line with scrubs. I doubt even Cuylle will make the team which will be a disgrace. Or Edstrom. This organization is retarded which is why they are well on their way to not winning a cup with another Hall of Fame goaltender. I believe this team will struggle to make the playoffs unless Shesterkin is what he was two years ago. His new contract will be coming up in a couple of years so we might see two years of that guy.

I think anybody on the bottom 6 could lose their job save for Chytil. If Laf doesn't show up (again) he could be gone. Hopefully Laf used a skating coach this off season. I also think the NYR need to figure out how to get a solid PK from their bottom 6 players without wearing down top 6 guys. It's great to have a solid PK but when you have to scramble your lines and rest top 6 guys after the kill then what are you gaining?

Brennan Othmann didn't practice today with an upper body injury

Mika Zibanejad left practice today holding his arm

Both listed as day to day, but doesn't sound like there's been any diagnosis done yet

Watched both in Hartford last season and neither is an NHL-level player.  Cuylle had a very quiet playoff run.  His linemates made him look better before they were recalled to NY for the first round.  Edstrom had one highlight reel goal but otherwise didn't do much.  Rempe is the kid to watch as a 4th line extra but probably not this season.
