Brooks brings up the excellent point the Rangers don't have to spend big money on a risky RW for Zib and Kreider. Better to not sign than get a dud. And surprise actually have cap room at the trade deadline to fill any needs then. Work with in house candidates til  then in the hopes someone emerges. 

Guentzel ends up going for $9M per over 7 years.  Not sure I wanted the Rangers to invest that sort of money.  Blackhawks expected to sign both Bertuzzi ($5.5Mx4) and Teruvainen (3x$5.4M).

Looks like Toffoli is the most likely option if they go the FA route at this point

Appears Toffoli is going to San Jose for 4 years @ $6M

Stamkos (4x$8M) and Marchessault (5x$5.5M) both to Nashville

Arvidsson was another possibility...he's going to Edmonton

Looks like Drury sitting this one out. I don’t see any hidden gems getting picked up by the Rangers today. Unless you count Garrick. 😴

7 years for Guentzel is a bit crazy to me. He turns 30 in October. Clearly, the money was not going to fit with the Rangers. Bertuzzi turns 30 in Feb and the years and amount are reasonable. Teruvainen turns 30 in Sept. His contract is the most reasonable. None of these guys move the needle on grind.
