Rangers and Caps Schedule set
The NHL did itself no favors tonight in the eyes of the media, first delaying the announcement of the schedule until after 11pm Eastern, and then making some questionable scheduling choices that have many scratching their heads.
One of the biggest questions was around the start of the Rangers-Capitals series, scheduled to start Thursday, a four day break from the end of the season, and five days since the Rangers would have played the New Jersey Devils in their season finale.

In past years, a lot has been made of bringing in veterans who have Stanley Cup experience. Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, even lesser lights like Ruslan Fedotenko were referred to as having been there and having the ring to prove it.
Brad Richards is the lone representative in terms of Cup winning pedigree…if you exclude John Tortorella of course. The duo helped lead the Tampa Bay Lightning to their maiden Stanley Cup championship way back in 2004. Meanwhile, Arron Asham was part of the Flyers team that lost the 2010 Cup Final to the Blackhawks.
