In past years, a lot has been made of bringing in veterans who have Stanley Cup experience. Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, even lesser lights like Ruslan Fedotenko were referred to as having been there and having the ring to prove it.
Brad Richards is the lone representative in terms of Cup winning pedigree…if you exclude John Tortorella of course. The duo helped lead the Tampa Bay Lightning to their maiden Stanley Cup championship way back in 2004. Meanwhile, Arron Asham was part of the Flyers team that lost the 2010 Cup Final to the Blackhawks.
Of the remaining players with NHL experience, several return from the Rangers trip to the conference finals – Lundqvist, Girardi, Callahan, Staal, McDonagh, Stepan, Boyle, Del Zotto, Stralman, Bickel, Kreider and Eminger – while several more have been there with other teams – Hamrlik, Clowe, Pyatt and Biron
