Tomorrow night’s game against the Devils will feature the same line-up that defeated the New York Islanders 5-0 on Saturday. That means that Tony DeAngelo will again sit out, though he at least got to practice with the big team today.
When asked, David Quinn said he was no longing holding out DeAngelo to send a message, but that it was more about not messing with a winning combination.
All three of the replacements who made their season debut on Saturday, contributed on the scoresheet. Phillip Di Giuseppe picked up an assist on the 4th goal by Kaapo Kakko, and Brendan Smith got the lone assist on Artemi Panarin‘s first goal of the year. Meanwhile in net, Alexandar Georgiev stopped all 23 shots he faced to record his fifth career shutout.
Line changes appear to remain in effect, though Kaapo Kakko did see a little time on the practice PP after losing his spot to Brett Howden after Game 1.
