Two seasons ago showed some possibility's in his 35 games with the Rangers. Had some admirable qualities like heart and balls, that Drury doesn't seem to care for. And then last season totally sacrificed to allow Sully's boy Sheary to be on the Ranger roster.

@cuyllranger Berard wasn't very good for the NYR or Hartford last year, so not surprised.  He reportedly asked for a chance to play somewhere, and the Rangers ended up with better bottom six options in Kartye, Chmelar and Sykora any way.

I hear yu Fish but Bernard comes to camp and wasn't any worse than Sheary yet he's the one cut the end of training camp. Then the  games he played was no worse than Sheary again. Sent down again. No wonder he pouted in Hartford.

I don't think Berard outplayed Sheary, particularly in his own end where he's always seen to struggle, and without any offense it became a challenge.  He's a small guy too, which was going to be a harder sell on the bottom six, so I think giving him a chance somewhere else is good for him...don't expect he'll get much more time in the NHL unfortunately.

To clarify I didn’t say Bérard outplayed Sheary I said he was no worse. I do think given the same ice time and opportunities coach’s pet got, he probably would have not been any worse than Sheary.
