Another reason to go find another tough defensman. Lindgren may have to spend some time at Cyberdyne Systems

Kiraly's hit on Lindgren probably should have stayed at 5, but I can see why the ref reduced it. Kiraly's elbow did get Lindgren, but it was also because Lindgren's head was lowered during the hit.

This is a perfect example of the problem signing Lindgren long term. He and Kiraly were going at it all game and Kiraly took the moment to nail Lindgren when Lindgren was in a bad position. It is the nature of Lindgren's all in game, but if Fox or Jones was in that vulnerable position, maybe Kiraly lets up. Another factor is Kiraly is rolling at 210lbs (or more) and it is simple physics that the 20-30 pounds he has over Lindgren is going to do some damage to Lindgren. This is not the first time we have seen Lindgren get blasted, either. It won't be the last.

It sounds like he will be back for the next game, but, once again, he could be playing through an injury while loaded up with Toradol. It is only a matter of time until he just can't recover from the accumulated effects of these hits.

Lindgren is going to be a big contract decision. Heart of a lion but not big enough to play his game, he’s getting banged up more and more. Problem is replacing him.

With Fox eligible to return from LTIR on 11/29, when do you bring him back? He needs to practice and we need to be certain he is 100%. Is 12/3 game against the Sharks the right expectation? There is no need to rush him back as the NYR are in a fine spot without him. The Rangers are like 7-1-1 since the Carolina game where AHO cheap shotted him. Not that i want anybody to go after Aho(le) 😏 😏

So, what happens when Chytil comes back?  He’ll probably center the third line since VT isn’t getting bumped down. Logic says Bonino slots back in as C4. Jimmy V and Barkley G aren’t going anywhere; so either Kakko or Pitlick are sitting out. I’m thinking Kakko needs a change of scenery. He can play on the perimeter and hit with his purse somewhere else, IMO.

Might be a good time to unload Chytil and his concussion issue, while he hopefully stills has some value. The team is functioning pretty good without him. and will need a replacement for Bonino after this season. And gotta be done with Kakko. One of the last couple games after Miller took a point shot, he was hollering at Kakko to get in front of the net instead of 10 feet off the side. It was embarrassing to watch. Kids very talented but a light weight and plays on the perimeter only, unless he gets ripped a new one by a teamate or coach then you see him go to the net a time or two, but it only lasts a short while and then back to who he is. He needs a fulltime coach concentrating his efforts on working him after every shift and all practice to get involved, he obviously needs a lot more attention than most players. . But that ain't happening, and again the Rangers need something back, for the third line. Maybe there is a deal out there for Shane Wright from Seattle, or bring up Othmann. Definetly going to be selling low.

Adam Fox skated in a regular jersey today, so looks like he'll come off LTIR on Wednesday (earliest he's able to).  Chytil has also begun skating on his own, which is encouraging

Rangers sent Mackey back to Hartford signifying Fox will play Wednesday and also called up Brodzinski and Adam Edstrom. Looking forward to seeing Edstrom get some playing time. Plays big bringing a competitive, physical game. I liked him in training camp.

Kakko going to LTIR, not expected to be season ending, but will miss significant time...so guess it's not a torn ACL.  Chytil also placed on retroactive LTIR (November 3rd), which allows the team to call up more players and also the temporary cap space.

Looks like Edstrom got sent back to Hartford, but a real opportunity for Johnny Brat’s. At this stage of his life/career, he’s playing to stay in the league be it here or somewhere else, so I’m hoping we’ll be pleasantly surprised by him. He’s got the ability to be a solid third line right wing IMO.
