Rangers sent Mackey back to Hartford signifying Fox will play Wednesday and also called up Brodzinski and Adam Edstrom. Looking forward to seeing Edstrom get some playing time. Plays big bringing a competitive, physical game. I liked him in training camp.
Looks like Edstrom got sent back to Hartford, but a real opportunity for Johnny Brat’s. At this stage of his life/career, he’s playing to stay in the league be it here or somewhere else, so I’m hoping we’ll be pleasantly surprised by him. He’s got the ability to be a solid third line right wing IMO.
I'm a fan of Brodzynski especially when the Rangers have zero cap room. He's always worked his ass off when called up. Its not like a trade is possible. Might have been if Kakko and his decreased trade value had stayed healthy.

On a good team which the Rangers are he might be a tweener but there a lot of teams he could fill a forth line role on. It’s a matter of the type of player u want on a fourth line.
Interesting article in the Post about Laviolette on Brodzynski and as usual he is bang on in his thoughts. As he mentions all to often teams callup AHL guy who is producing points in the minors, and he gets tossed into a fourth line role with very little offensive opportunity and never gets much of a chance to show all the parts of his game that got him the callup. I've always thought there was a NHL player in Brodzynski and suggest he probably is capable of doing what Wheeler is iand probably more.

Kakko set to return on 12/22... I don't know if that means he will play or not. Rangers are doing fine without him, and I would rather see Brodzinski instead of Kakko.
