First Round Schedule Released

by Jamy Baron

After yesterday’s final games of the NHL season, the Rangers will face the Ottawa Senators in the first round of the NHL Playoffs. Today, the schedule for the first round was released.

The schedule is the following:

Thursday, April 12, 2012 | 7 p.m. | Ottawa at NY Rangers | NHL Network, CBC
Saturday, April 14, 2012 | 7 p.m. | Ottawa at NY Rangers | NBC Sports Network, CBC
Monday, April 16, 2012 | 7:30 p.m. | NY Rangers at Ottawa | CBC, CNBC
Wednesday, April 18, 2012 | 7:30 p.m. | NY Rangers at Ottawa | CBC, CNBC
*Saturday, April 21, 2012 | 7 p.m. | Ottawa at NY Rangers | NBC Sports Network, CBC
*Monday, April 23, 2012 | TBD | NY Rangers at Ottawa | TBD
*Thursday, April 26, 2012 | TBD | Ottawa at NY Rangers | TBD

The whole schedule for the first round can be seen here: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=626625

I predict that the Rangers will win the series in five games. Ottawa has a lot of fire power, but the Rangers defense will be too much and there is this guy in net named Henrik Lundqvist. The Rangers offensive forecheck will prevent breakouts by the Senators and wear them down. Get ready, Thursday is only four days away. Playoff hockey is almost here!
