McKegg To Debut

With Wednesday’s trade of Vladislav Namestnikov to the Senators, the Blueshirts needed to make a change to the roster, and it appears that Greg McKegg will get his first chance to impress this season, slotting into the vacant fourth line wing spot.

McKegg, a free agent signing over the Summer, will see his first action as a Ranger against the Edmonton Oilers this Saturday, a game that will pit the two highest scoring players, as of Wednesday night, against each other.

Mika Zibanejad and Connor McDavid are tied for the league lead with 8 points though McDavid has played three games to Zibanejad’s two.

McKegg has 132 NHL games to his name for five different teams:  Toronto, Florida, Tampa Bay, Pittsburgh and most recently Carolina.  He’s recorded just 13 goals and 11 assists and has averaged a little under 10 minutes of ice time across his six year career.
