Alex Bourret‘s short stint with the Rangers is over courtesy of a trade to the Phoenix Coyotes. The 90th overall pick was used to select Czech defenseman Tomas Kundratek, and puts an end to a disappointing stint that saw Bourret’s stock continue to fall.
In the papers today the locals recap day one of the draft, where the Rangers stayed at #20 selecting another defenseman, their third in the last four years with their first pick.
The Rangers chose Oshawa Generals blueliner, Michael Del Zotto. Originally projected to go in the top ten, the puck moving defenseman saw his stock drop this year and last.
