The Rangers will be a defenseman short once again tonight, as the Rangers play their third straight game shorthanded, and potentially face one more before the return of K’Andre Miller from his three game suspension.
The NHL today denied the Rangers’ request for an emergency call-up, presumably because the team could have made a call-up in lieu of trading for Patrick Kane. With Ryan Lindgren having been injured Saturday against Washington, and K’Andre Miller‘s suspension being announced hours before the Kane trade, the Rangers were well aware of the risk of being shorthanded.
With Lindgren not yet skating, it remains to be seen whether the team will be able to field a full line-up for Saturday, when they face off against the league-leading Boston Bruins.
