He was pulled out of the line-up in the second period preseason opener with the Devils, and Artemi Panarin remains off the ice as the team continues to practice today. Both coach David Quinn and General Manager Jeff Gorton played down the seriousness of the injury, saying that Panarin is expected to return in the preseaosn.
Meanwhile Sean Day skated for the first time today following off-season hip surgery, though there’s no indicaiton yet whether he’ll see any ice time in the preseason. Likewise 2019 second round draft pick Matthew Robertson returned to the ice after pulling up with a groin injury early in camp.
Fellow defenseman Yegor Rykov remains sidelined on a day to day with an ankle sprain he suffered in Traverse City.
