Welcome news for the Rangers today, with Chris Kreider being cleared to practice with the Rangers today ahead of tomorrow’s first meeting of the season with the Columbus Blue Jackets. Kreider had missed the last two games with an undisclosed upper body injury, and had previously missed four games with neck spasms earlier in the year.
The exact nature of this latest injury is yet to be disclosed, though Alain Vigneault may provide some more details after the practice skate which is in progress at the time of this writing. Kreider did wear a regular jersey, so is cleared for contact, and the relative briefness of his absence, would likely point to a return tomorrow.
Josh Jooris also practiced in a regular jersey for the first time since suffering a separated shoulder. If Vigneault holds to tradition, it’s likely Jooris would miss the Columbus game, but potentially be available for either Florida on Sunday, or the Penguins on Monday.
Rookie Pavel Buchnevich remains off the ice as he deals with back spasms.
